We have really enjoyed working on this project with the owner. Not every part is available for a 4 door so some of the parts will require hand fabrication. Once the body was removed from the frame, we sent the body to be sand blasted to find out the true condition of the rough spots. While the body was at the blaster, we repaired sections of the frame and stripped it of all suspension parts. Chassis Saver was applied to the newly blasted frame and a new tube style front suspension was installed. A new 383 stroker short block was painted and assembled with a dual 4 intake and broke in before b eing installed on the frame. We are currently working on removing and replacing the floor, rockers, truck, inner fenders and windshield frame.
Lunati Cams has a very detailed break in procedure for their cams beginning with varying the engine's RPM between 2000 and 2500 for the first 20 minutes. After the first 20 minutes, increase the engine RPM by 500 RPM for 1 minute up to 3500 then decrease the engine RPM by 500 for 1 minute down to 1000 RPM before shutting the engine off and letting it cool down.
